Origin

burn-r8 was built by Harrison Hesslink. He was running Google Ads for his other project, StudyWithLily, and got tired of switching between the Google Ads dashboard and his terminal. He started using Claude to manage campaigns and realized the tooling to connect the two didn't exist, so he built it.

What burn-r8 does

burn-r8 is an open-source MCP server that gives AI assistants like Claude, Cursor, and Windsurf direct access to the Google Ads API. It provides 65 tools for campaign management, keyword research, budget control, performance reporting, and waste cleanup. The hosted version at burnrate.sh handles authentication, credential management, and usage metering so you can get started without a developer token or local setup.
